Account deletion · data retention · your rights

Please read this page carefully to understand how AuthGuards handles personal data, deletion requests, and GDPR-related rights. For broader data practices, see our Privacy Policy.

1. Overview

AuthGuards is built for software sellers who manage licenses, users, and customer data. While we may not be established in the European Union or formally designated as a GDPR data controller in every jurisdiction, we believe privacy should be a fundamental human right.

This page explains practical GDPR-related topics for our platform: how to delete your account, what happens to your data, whether you can recover it later, and what export options exist. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

If you operate customer panels or seller storefronts, you may also process end-user data on your own behalf. You are responsible for your relationship with those users and for any GDPR notices or lawful bases required in your jurisdiction.

2. How do I delete my account?

Signed-in users can delete their own account from the dashboard:

  1. Go to Account → Security.
  2. Scroll to the Danger zone section.
  3. Hold the Hold 5s to delete account button until the confirmation dialog opens.
  4. Enter your password (and your 2FA code if two-factor authentication is enabled), then confirm.

After successful deletion you are signed out immediately. Demo accounts cannot be deleted from the panel.

Sub-accounts: Reseller sub-accounts can delete themselves the same way from Account → Security. A master reseller can remove a sub-account from the reseller panel instead.

If you cannot access your account, contact us via Contact with the email on the account and we will verify ownership before assisting.

3. Is all of my data deleted upon account deletion?

Yes - when you delete your AuthGuards account through the dashboard, we remove the data tied to that account from our active systems, including:

  • Your reseller account record (email, username, authentication settings, and profile data).
  • Projects you own, license keys issued under those projects, and related activity records we store for those keys.
  • Blacklist entries and other project-scoped records linked to your owned projects.
  • Sub-accounts that belong directly to your master account (when you are the parent reseller).

Deletion is intended to be permanent for production data. We may retain limited information where required by law (for example fraud prevention, billing disputes, or security investigations) or in encrypted backups for a short retention window before those backups rotate out. Any retained data is not used for marketing or to restore your account.

4. Can I retrieve my data if I decide to come back?

No. Once your account is deleted, the associated data is permanently removed from our active servers and cannot be restored. This includes projects, license keys, dashboard configuration, storefront settings, and activity history linked to your account.

We recommend exporting or backing up anything important before you delete your account. If you may return later, consider keeping your account and adjusting your subscription instead of deleting it.

5. Can I export my account data?

We do not offer a single one-click export of your entire account (profile, all projects, all keys, all logs, and configuration in one file).

Depending on your plan and permissions, you may export specific data from the dashboard, for example:

  • Individual license keys or user records from the Licenses and Users areas (where export actions are available).
  • Selected log or activity data from the Logs section, when your tier and role allow it.
  • Appearance or panel configuration backups from customer panel settings, where enabled.

Export availability varies by subscription tier (Tester, Basic, Seller, etc.) and by sub-account permissions set by a parent reseller. If you need a formal data-access copy under GDPR, use Contact and describe your request - we will respond as required by applicable law.

6. Your GDPR-related rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another region with similar privacy laws, you may have rights to:

  • Access - request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification - correct inaccurate account information (much of this can be updated from your profile and security settings).
  • Erasure - delete your account as described above, or ask us to remove data we still hold.
  • Restriction or objection - ask us to limit or stop certain processing where the law allows.
  • Portability - receive personal data you provided in a structured, commonly used format where technically feasible.
  • Complaint - lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us via Contact. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Where enabled, eligible accounts can also adjust optional display privacy settings from Display opt-out or Account → Security.
